I love having every. single. weekend. off.

For the two years I was in nursing school I worked every Saturday, then every other Saturday for the past nine months or so. I didn't realize how much time I was missing with my sweetie. Now that I have it back it seems that my life and my relationship are much more fulfilling.

Today the cable company is sending someone to fix our cable box. He's supposed to be here between 8 and 11, so that means he'll be here between 10:45 and 11:30. A few years ago I was feeling the tug to be spiritual.  I went to a solstice celebration and the topic that day was "sacred space".  They defined it as the pause between one thing and another. Yesterday I had an honest-to-God day off.

I sort of had a bonus day off the day before. I was sitting around all day waiting for my assignment. A call never came, but I still was poised, waiting to grab my stuff and go to work if I got a call. It's not relaxing though. I can't get too involved in anything because I'd have to stop in the middle.

I had a plan.

The last day of class forever and ever was Thursday. It was bittersweet. I'm relieved that it's over and I'll never have to go to class again, but sad that I will never see these people I've spent two years with again.
